Lexi comes to us from the Rogue Valley in southern Oregon. Being the nerd that she is, she graduated summa cum laude from Willamette University with degrees in math and physics. As a natural next step, she moved across the country for a PhD program in physics at the University of Maryland, where her enjoyment of physics came to an end. After two years, she left to find a new love in wine.


After graduate school, she found herself in Ann Arbor, MI, where she explored an interest in hospitality and obtained a degree in hospitality management. She began learning the ropes of the restaurant world at Mikette Bistro & Bar. She then moved back to DC, where she took a job at Proof Restaurant. With its expansive wine list, Proof was the training ground where she learned much more about wine and passed her Court of Master Sommeliers Certified Exam. Following Proof, Lexi joined the flock at Rooster & Owl, a recent James Beard Award nominee. She was recently recognized as a scholarship recipient for the Young Leaders Summit at SommCon 2019.


If she’s in charge of the playlist, you’re likely to hear Madonna’s Like a Prayer. Her favorite pour is Wimmer-Czerny’s Roter Veltliner. It’s so rich and delicious! It’s also quite the trickster, almost fooling you into thinking it has sugar.
